BES Services Ltd had reached the point where its website no longer reflected the business properly. Over the years, the company had grown and evolved - from its roots as Bolton Electrical Services back in 1970, to adding fire and security in 2014, and now operating as BES Electrical Fire & Security. The website needed to catch up and present that clearly: one business, one name, and a full range of services under one roof.

The problem

The old site wasn’t doing enough to communicate that story in a clear and modern way. With services covering everything from electrical installations and lighting to EV charging, CCTV, fire alarms and access control, it’s important that visitors can quickly understand what BES does and where they fit. Just as importantly, the site needed to build confidence from the outset - showing that BES is experienced, professional and able to deliver work safely and with minimal disruption.

 

SEO was another big part of the challenge. BES wanted to improve organic visibility and bring in more high-value commercial enquiries, especially from the people who often influence or make supplier decisions - procurement managers, facilities managers, office managers and site managers. The website needed to support those audiences better, with a smoother experience, clearer service routes and a stronger overall impression.

 

At the same time, BES also works with home builders and building contractors, so the site had to strike the right balance. It needed to feel approachable and easy to use, while still looking credible enough for larger commercial projects.

The new structure makes the business much easier to understand at a glance, with straightforward navigation that helps visitors find the right service area quickly - whether they’re looking for electrical work, fire safety systems or security solutions. To better support higher-value commercial enquiries, the site was designed to feel clean, modern and professional. The content was shaped to reinforce BES’s credibility, highlighting both their long-standing heritage and the strength of the team behind the business. That helps give decision-makers confidence in the company’s experience, reliability and ability to deliver.

We kept calls to action simple and visible, focusing on the routes people are most likely to want: Contact Us and Call Us. The aim was to reduce friction and make it easy for visitors to take the next step without having to dig around. The site was built in Craft CMS, giving the BES team a practical way to manage content and continue improving the site over time. That means service pages can be expanded and refined as search demand grows, helping the website support long-term SEO progress without needing a full rebuild every time something changes

The result is a website that feels much more in step with the BES brand today - clearer, more usable and better positioned to support both organic growth and higher-value commercial enquiries.
